Tell-Tale
Mud Tubs
Suddenly, one day you notice a long pencil-thin mud tubes running up the
wall of your house or building. With a sinking heart, you discover that
termites have invaded your premises and the damage may be colossal.
Appetite
Unlimited
Termites are voracious eaters of anything that consists of cellulose material
- wood, paper, textiles, and animal products like leather. In other words,
practically nothing that is not metal, brick or cement is safe in any building
from the ever-hungry termites. Unless termite infestation is prevented,
it may become too difficult to salvage anything later. |

Underground
Dwellers
Termites or white ants, as they are popularly called, are among the most
destructive pests found in the tropics. Of the different species known
to man, the Subterranean or ground-nesting variety infests our land Abundant
and extensive, Subterranean termites are present under the ground, in
all parts of Singapore, causing wide spread damage valued at millions
of dollars every year.

Hidden
Invaders
Conventional masonry structures and modern buildings are both susceptible
to termite damage. Termites work their way into buildings through tiny
cracks and cervices in the foundation or the floor. Once they gain entry,
they move surreptiously in mud-shelter tubes without exposing themselves.
In
no time, all termites begin to eat thorough valuable possessions such
as costly woodwork and furniture, books and important documents, for that
matter anything that has a cellulose base. Termites also attack plastic
insulation of electric cables causing short circuits. They even ruin lawns
and gardens.

Prolific
Breeders
Termites are extremely wily and elusive. They multiply so fast that if
you destroy them in one place, they will soon 'pop up' in other places
in large numbers and with renewed vigour. In fact, any attempt to get
rid of them superficially only serves to scatter and spread infestation.
It therefore, stands to reason that it would be far better to prevent
termites getting into a building rather than controlling them after infestation
has set in.
Subterranean
termites live under the ground in well-organised colonies with a highly
developed social order consisting of their King and Queen, workers, soldiers
and nymphs, each with a distinct duty to perform. While the King fertilizers
the eggs, the Queen is an egg-laying machine with an incredible production
of eggs, several times per minute, through many, many years.

Setting
up Impregnable Barrier
The basic principle of termite control is to prevent termites from getting
into the building that needs to be protected. This is impregnable chemical
barrier through which termites cannot enter.
Active
Pest Control's treatment is based on the above principle making use of
the latest proven methods established by leading termite control authorities
all over the world. Anti-termite treatment can be applied to existing
buildings as well as to new buildings as they come up.
